Assistant Photo Editor – March 2000 to July 2006

Responsible for daily photo planning and long-term projects. Duties included editing photo requests, assigning photos, editing images and coaching photographers to improve their skills. Helped director of photography with recruiting and hiring staff photographers, freelancers and interns. Assisted with conversion to all-digital format. Also shot assignments for news, sports and features sections.

Staff Photographer-February 1996 to March 2000

Shot daily photo assignments including news, sports, features and stand-alone photos. Also worked on long-term projects.

 Photo Lab Technician – May 1994 to February 1996

Responsible for the photo lab. Duties included film processor maintenance, black and white printing, inventory as well as shooting daily assignments.

Tahoe World

Staff Photographer - September 1991 to April 1994

Responsible for all aspects of photography for North Lake Tahoe newspaper.

 AWARDS

 •Various individual awards from National Press Photographers Association Region 10 and Ventura County Press Club.

• The photo staff of the Ventura County Star earned the most points in the National Press Photographers Association Region 10 clip contest for each of the six years that I was the assistant photo editor.
